A health system consists of all organisations, people and actions whose primary intent is to promote, restore or maintain health.

Health system strengthening

Health system strengthening (HSS) can be defined as any combination of initiatives and strategies meant to improve one or more of the functions of a health system with the ultimate aim of improving the whole. Progress in access, coverage, quality, or efficiency of the health services can all lead to better health.

Herbal medicine

Herbal medicine, including herbs, herbal materials and preparations, are products that contain plant materials or combinations of plants as active ingredients. Herbalism is the practice of making or prescribing plant-based herbal remedies for medical conditions and is considered a form of alternative medicine.
